Rapture 46
The Pact I made with God
February 16, 2007
Joel Akin
Time carries us to our destiny. Yet is time of God or of men? For if God carries us to our destiny then we are in good hands. If men carry us then we are in bad hands.
If men are in control of the church then men are in danger. They are leaning on men and men fail.
Now most who rely on men are those who are part of established religion. And most don't want to call it religion but faith. But if Faith is the faith of men then that is the faith which needs to be changed. For men cannot find a faith without God. And any faith that is of God is the faith which must stem directly from God.
Now if it were based on the Old then men did not listen. For in the New Testament men felt lead by the leading of the Holy Spirit and that is what is essential. For any church to succeed it must be lead by the church of faith and not the church of baseless faith.
Now I belong to an established faith. The men in it are men of prayer and that is how they are taught. Our denomination does not believe in direct intervention as long as the men follow basic doctrine. I would be all right as long as I submitted to anyone who thought I was off.
But suppose there were those who thought I was. What if God wanted a New Testament Church but and Old Testament Prophet? Would we accept such a man? Perhaps if we thought about someone like Daniel we think we could accept him. But suppose the praying of Daniel three times a day interfered with a church service? Would that pastor be accepted? Would we turn them loose upon a congregation knowing that at noon Daniel had to be facing East?
And what about Jeremiah? Would we accept someone who was rejected by government? What if the King or in our case, the President threw him into jail for giving a word that was based on National Security issues? Such as the USA was in danger? And the people had to submit to God or they would fail?
Now such things are part of history and part of the story we are in. For God is part of the story of those who are to return. And we are part of the history of that story.
Each one of us is mentioned as part of history. And if we serve evil we serve those who do God hurt. And if we turn our back on God we have to offend evil. If evil is called good then who can stand? If I mention gas as being homogenized milk and try to sell it then someone will get sick and call the media or the cops. And I would be out of selling milk.
Well, you get the idea. We can't call man with man a sin because that is evil. Yet if man with boy comes along then that is evil. So in a way the only difference is time. When the boy grows up, even if that man abused him, now they are lovers and that is acceptable?
In some ways this story is about sin and evil but I want it to be seen as a way of making a case. For sin is evil and does evil and does evil because he has power of law.
That power is being broken and being delivered and being set free and that means there will be a break through. And when that breakthrough happens God plans to help deliver us. And that means me and my family.
Now if that sounds selfish then why don't you pray and ask God to deliver you? I am sick daily. So is my mother. So is my father. And our dog developed a massive tumor out of nowhere and is in such poor shape she is being put down tomorrow. And yet I prayed and prayed and prayed because I saw that tumor grow day by day and day by day I prayed. But it didn't stop and grew so huge she could barely walk. And it is horrible to see.
And so it is the story of this story that a dog suffers and I can't do anything to stop it. I tried and I have faith in God. I know what real faith is. The kind Jesus had. I don't have that level perhaps but I have that faith. And its not based on scripture, though the word of God is critical to understanding, but I have that faith in God. How? By teaching. God taught me personally and not man.
If that bothers you then you are under time and teaching of faith based on men and their teaching. Its not lies or losers who give you knowledge. I teach as well and so did my father. He taught truth straight from the Gospel.
But the Bible was given as a valuable asset but someone who doesn't have the Bible can still be saved. And so that means my life is to do with God and not a book no matter how valuable that book is. And it was done this way because for a long time men had no scripture. They had not one to teach them and no one to show them. And they had only one thing; a law. And those who came to the law had faith and they needed life before they could understand living or love.
And it is this which gives me hope for I am part of the story of life. I am part of it in a way that helps me understand who and what I am. I played a critical role and I was essential in some ways to the story. I made a pact with God through the Lord Jesus Christ that I would obey. I did. I followed the principles God taught me which was prayer. I didn't promise but I said "I'll try" and I did.
That was the part which is yet to come. For I will keep praying and I will keep trying.
But all this is part of the story of life. And part of the nature of things to come. For God will deliver men and deliver us from the nature. And that was the power of sin. We have to have the nature of Christ and he was of life and not of death. If he didn't overcome death then we would still be under the law.
So don't show me how to go back under the law because those who are under it are under the old. Even if you call it new it is still old. And if that bothers you think on these things. Who is of God if you are of law? Are you of God who made the law? Then why did God send Jesus to the grave and to hell? Why Hell? Didn't those people there deserve to remain there? If Jesus went it wasn't to lock up the Romans or people of the Law. It was to let them free.
So if those who were in Hell were there because they had crucified the Lord then who are we to put us back under the law and tell us to go to Hell? For those who do this do so without understanding. And our world is filled with those who are locked inside of hell and don't even know it.
The Lord is returning for a people who want to be set free of the law and its sting. And that isn't easy for some to understand. For the law is beautiful but it doesn't work with those who are of sin. It only works with those who accept it. And those of sin are under sin and those of sin are under it. Not law but fate. And that is why the law was created so they would go from spinning of bones to spitting on palms. And that was a sign of agreement and they gave men time to think. And when they thought they agreed that sin was vile and life was fun. And that isn't something the law taught you. It was there as a serious contender to evil. And it came to men as a vile way because men hated it.
And today they hate it still and try to break it always. So don't force men into law but face men with hope and give them a way out of law by the Lord Jesus Christ. When you put them into law they faint. When you put them in Christ they live and grow and prosper. And that is because the blood of Christ is there for remission of sin. And sin is there to bring you under the law of death. And he who was sin was the spirit of evil and the vile of nature. And nature was like the heart and evil.
So if you are in this story give time to love and to God. For God set all things aright. And God says the rapture is taking place and it is happening. And the law is being received by those who were of death but of life. And they are the power of sin. And those who come to the cross do so with the full knowledge that Jesus is the only way. And that is the truth.
